The ocean beaches of Oregon and Northern California are a personal refuge where the cadence of powerful water keeps me in the present and the shifting topography reminds me that nothing is permanent in this mortal world. The ocean on this stretch of the Pacific can be a quiet storm or raging drama, changing and unpredictable. Organic forms are created by water pushing on land while sweet pools of light emerge from black shadows. Lightness and dark are in harmony neither one dominating the other. These are meditative spaces, yet the human influence is never too far away. Every day is a new day, a new experience, and a new universe where big water meets land.
