Robert Louis Stevenson once wrote that there are no foreign lands; it is the traveler who is foreign. As I foreigner, my photographic eye is drawn to people, culture, architecture, history, and everyday life. I try to look at the ground level for small surprises rather than constantly gazing upwards at great monuments. Rather than capturing the “essence” of a place (if such a thing even exists), I hope to tell an interesting story about people and culture and come home with a better understanding and appreciation of both human diversity and the things we all share in common. Is there more that unites us than sets up apart?
Destinations in this collection include Athens, Samos, Paris, Marseille, Provence, Croatia, La Paz Mexico, Baja, and Belize.
